Lauren & Tyler: Honeymoon Home Run
Lauren and Tyler are high school sweethearts from California living an adventurous, fast-paced life that involves a lot of traveling (Tyler is a professional baseball player). Tyler's cousin referred them our way, and they came to us looking for a honeymoon that would blend a little bit of adventure with a lot of relaxation time.
Lauren: We are both pretty adventurous and love to try new things. We are always on the go and saying that we travel a lot would be an understatement ! I recently finished getting my degree in Criminal Justice at Cal State Fullerton and Tyler plays professional baseball. This means that we travel from one city to the next from January - October (and even longer if the team makes playoffs). Needless to say, it is a very busy lifestyle! Tyler and I chose Bora Bora as a destination because after almost two full years of wedding planning we just wanted a place to completely relax, and that is EXACTLY what we got! We wanted a little bit of adventure to fulfill our daredevil side but overall we just wanted to lay back and enjoy being Mr. and Mrs. for the first time.
We stayed in an overwater bungalow at the St. Regis that would give a movie scene a run for its money. Our bungalow had breathtaking views of the mountains in the distance. We spent most of our time swimming in front of our bungalow looking out across the ocean at these mountains. All of the staff was amazing, and they provided us with kayaks and paddle boards so we could tour the entire property the way it is meant to be seen...on the water. However, Jennifer also planned a day of swimming with sharks, which was by far the most amazing thing we have ever done. This excursion is literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We also did a full day of ATV / Jet Ski tours and that was also a blast!
Jennifer also made a reservation for us at one of the best (if not the best) restaurant in Bora Bora called Villa Mahana. That was one of the top restaurants my husband and I have ever dined at. We chose the chef's tasting menu and we were not disappointed. We mostly ate at the hotel, and although the food was delicious, I do wish we had been a little more adventurous when choosing our restaurant locations.
We spent our entire honeymoon at the St. Regis on Bora Bora. To say that my expectations were greatly exceeded would not even do it justice. We completely loved loved loved our trip. I expected to see crystal clear blue water, but when I saw the different shades of blue, the fluorescent fish, the sting rays and other exotic creatures I literally couldn’t believe my eyes. It was incredible!
